The government says that import restrictions on selected vehicles used for public transport services and goods transportation will be eased within the next week.
Minister of State for Finance Mr. Ranjith Siambalapitiya said that no decision has been taken so far to relax other vehicle import restrictions.
Accordingly, the minister said that the gazette will be released in the near future to relax the import limit of buses (local service and tourist buses), lorries and trucks (freight transport, waste management, fire engines).
