This year, the remittance receipts of those employed abroad have increased continuously in the year 2023.
According to Central Bank of Sri Lanka data, remittances received by foreign employees to Sri Lanka during the period from January to June 2022 is 462.5 billion rupees.
Compared to the same period, this year remittance receipts have increased to 931.3 billion rupees.
Accordingly, compared to 2022, the remittance receipt of foreign employees for the year 2023 has shown an increase of 468.8 billion rupees.
