The release of Sinopec’s first batch of fuel imported from China has started.
Electricity and Energy Minister Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera says that the second batch is scheduled to arrive today (02).
The minister says that foreign exchange requirements for petroleum products will be eased through the entry of new retail suppliers into the local market as suppliers bring products on 12-month financing facilities from local financial institutions.
After signing agreements with gas station dealers, Sinopec will begin retail petroleum operations with 150 gas stations nationwide.
