The Supreme Court has ruled today (17) to dismiss three fundamental rights petitions submitted to the court by three people who were arrested during a protest.
Those petitions were submitted by three people who were arrested during the protest held in front of the then President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s private residence in Mirihana on March 31 last year.
They had submitted the petition stating that their fundamental rights were violated by the police arresting them during the protest and bringing them to court.
