According to the Department of Meteorology, a slight decrease in the current heavy rain and wind conditions in the southwestern parts of the island is expected from today (06).
Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts will experience rain from time to time.
A few rains may occur in North-West Province and Matale and Anuradhapura districts.
Occasional gusty winds of 40-45 kmph are possible in the western slopes of the Central Hills, Northern, North-Central Provinces and Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
