All approvals are given – A gazette issued for domestic debt restructuring

A gazette notification related to domestic debt restructuring has been issued.

This Gazette announcement has been issued by President Ranil Wickramasinghe as the Minister in charge of Monetary Economic Stabilization and National Policy.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 28 June 2023, the Parliament of Sri Lanka adopted the optimization of the domestic public debt of the Republic to ensure the sustainability of the public debt.

Through this gazette announcement, it has been ensured that all necessary approvals have been given to implement the optimization of local public debt in order to secure sustainable economic growth that will benefit the people of Sri Lanka and future generations through the rapid recovery of the economy while ensuring the sustainability of the public debt.

It also includes several directives regarding registered shares and securities.
