President Ranil Wickramasinghe has appointed new members for the Election and Human Rights Commission.
Accordingly, Mr. RMAL Ratnayake, a former Additional Election Commissioner General, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Election Commission, and Mr. MA Pathmasiri Chandrawansa Perera and Mr. Amir Mohammad Faiz are the other members.
Meanwhile, retired Supreme Court Judge LTB Dehideniya has been appointed as the Chairman of the Human Rights Commission and Nimalasena Gardiya Pundihewa, Thaiyamuthu Thanaraj, Professor Fatima Farsana Hanifa, and Dr. Gehan Dinuk Gunathilaka have been appointed as its other members.
The President’s Office has announced that people with experience and expertise in the relevant fields have been appointed for this purpose.
