Ruwan Wijayawardena, the deputy leader of the United National Party, says that a presidential election will be held next year.
He said that it is expected that a presidential election will be held by the month of March next year, adding that it is not possible to announce a specific date.
He added that there are a large number of people to support the current President Ranil Wickramasinghe in that presidential election.
