No more maximum retail price for Coconut

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has issued a gazette notification last night (18) to remove the maximum retail price of coconut.

With the increase in the price of coconut, on 25th September 2020, the Consumer Affairs Authority imposed a maximum retail price for coconut through the Gazette Notification No. 2194/73.

The gazette also fixed a maximum retail price of Rs. 70 for coconuts over 13 inches in circumference, Rs. 65 for coconuts between 12 and 13 inches in circumference and a maximum retail price of Rs. 60 for coconuts less than 12 inches in circumference.

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has canceled the maximum retail price of coconut by cancelling the previous gazette notification by issuing a new gazette notification No. 2232/38 yesterday.
