According to the Ministry of Health, the number of dengue cases this year has increased by almost three times compared to other years.
Its Deputy Director of Health Services, Dr. G. Wijesuriya said that dengue disease is also spreading among children.
The epidemiology unit of the Ministry of Health stated that 43,393 dengue cases have been reported this year.
The highest number of cases was recorded in the month of July and it is 11,119.
