With the non-party activists seizing power in the President’s House in Colombo, the opposition MPs have asked Mr. Sajith Premadasa to assume the office of Prime Minister and form an all-party government.
Accordingly, it is also suggested that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa be given the opportunity to leave the post.
For this purpose, discussions are currently being held between the leaders of Samagi Jana Balawega, National Peoples Power (Jathika Jana Balawegaya), Tamil National Alliance, Sri Lanka Freedom Party, and the 11-party alliances.
