The Ministry of Trade has focused on the importation of brown sugar for the Sinhala and Hindu New Year seasons.
Trade Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena states that a request was made to the Ministry of Finance to grant permission for this purpose.
The Ministry of Trade further stated that action will be taken to import brown sugar as soon as the permission of the Ministry of Finance is obtained.
