The test flight of a prototype flying car between two cities in Slovakia was successfully completed 35 minutes later.
Klein Vision’s Aircar has flown between the 2 cities Nitra and the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava.
The Aircar Prototype 1 is powered by a 160 horsepower BMW engine. It has a fixed propeller. It transforms from an airplane to an on-road vehicle in less than three minutes.
According to Klein Vision, it has now completed more than 40 hours of test flights, including flying at 8,200 feet and reaching a top speed of 190 kilometers per hour (118 miles per hour).
After landing in Bratislava on Monday, the plane was transformed into a car, driven by Klein Vision CEO Stefan Klein and company co-founder Anton Zazak.
“A flying car is no longer just a concept. It has become a science fiction reality. ” Says Anton Zazak, co-founder of Klein Vision & Co.
The company is now working on a car called the Air Car Prototype 2 with a 300 horsepower engine.
It can travel at speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour (186 miles per hour) and is expected to have a range of 1,000 kilometers (621 miles).
