Chinese Premier Li Qiang says that there is no conflict of basic interests or geopolitical conflict between China and Europe.

He also said that China is ready to work with Europe for the strong and stable development of bilateral relations.

The Chinese Prime Minister made these comments when he met the President of the European Council, Mr. Charles Michel, yesterday (10) in conjunction with the G20 Summit.

China and Europe are two major world powers, two markets and two important civilizations.

Because of this, the global stability and prosperity of the Eurasian continent depends on China-Europe relations, Mr. Li Qiang said.

China’s hope is to see a prosperous and stable Europe. He also mentioned that China is ready to handle sensitive issues properly by further strengthening dialogues and exchanges with Europe.

Mr. Charles Michel said here that the European Union is a reliable friend of China and that the European Union has no intention of controlling the development of prosperous China. The European Union follows the One China principle.

He also said that he is ready to work with China to hold a successful EU-China summit and expand dialogue and cooperation in various fields.
