Due to the unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States on Venezuela, the country’s assets of more than 22 billion dollars have been frozen by international financial institutions.

The Venezuelan media has reported that Mr. William Castillo, the country’s deputy foreign minister, said this yesterday (2).

The Deputy Foreign Minister has also said that 5 billion dollars of the suspended assets remain as special purchase rights owned by the International Monetary Fund.

The International Monetary Fund had decided to transfer this money to the Central Bank of Venezuela in order to recover the economy of Venezuela after the end of the Corona epidemic. But so far, the central bank of the country has not received the money, according to media reports.
