Meanwhile, the muggy situation will continue this week in the United Arab Emirates.

The National Meteorological Center of the country has said that the temperature in Outed city rose to 50.8°C by yesterday afternoon.

The southern town of Mesaira recorded a high of 49.8°C, while at least three other towns in the southern and central regions reached 49.3°C.

Air humidity levels reached a maximum of 90% in the interior and coastal areas of the UAE.

Coastal and inland areas are likely to experience fog and this weather will last till next Sunday night, said the weather bureau.
