Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has appointed the Select Committee for the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament.
The Parliamentary Select Committee consists of 12 members from the Government and the Opposition.
Ministers Dinesh Gunawardena, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Johnston Fernando, Dallas Alahapperuma, Wimal Weerawansa, Douglas Devananda and Prasanna Ranatunga have been appointed to the Parliamentary Select Committee representing the ruling party.
Also, MPs Lakshman Kiriella, Gayantha Karunatilake, Rauff Hakeem, Vijitha Herath, and Selvam Adaikkalanathan have been elected to the Parliamentary Select Committee representing the Opposition.
This Select Committee will appoint members to the other Committees of Parliament.
