Colombo District Secretary Pradeep Yasaratne stated that during the quarantine curfew period, the mobile trade in the Colombo district can only be carried out by traders who have obtained both doses of the Kovid vaccine.
The District Secretary said that legal action would be taken against such persons under the Quarantine Curfew if they engage in mobile trade in the Colombo District without obtaining both doses of the vaccine.
Mr. Yasaratne also said that the four economic centers at Meegoda, Narahenpita, Ratmalana and Bokundara would be kept open to ensure the uninterrupted supply of essential food items during the quarantine curfew.
There are 12294 mobile vendors and 1489 wholesalers registered in 13 Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Colombo District and they are allowed to distribute and sell essential commodities, he said.
