The Cabinet has decided to revise the tax on milk powder imports without raising prices as a solution to the shortage of milk powder in the market.
The press release issued by the Cabinet Office in this regard is as follows.
The Cabinet’s attention has focused on the current shortage of milk powder in the local market. The Cabinet decided to delegate powers to the Minister of Finance to study the matter and take necessary action to ensure adequate supply of milk powder to the local market by revising the existing tax rates for the importation of milk powder or by adopting some other appropriate course of action without increasing the price of milk powder in the local market.
