As the 2020 Tokyo Olympics draw to a close today, the United States has taken the lead in the medal tally.
Today, the United States has overtaken China, which has been at the forefront so far, by winning a gold medal higher than China in the gold medal table.
According to the medal tally, the United States has won a total of 113 medals, including 39 gold, 41 silver and 33 bronze. China won 38 gold, 32 silver and 88 bronze medals.
Host Japan finished third with 27 gold medals and a total of 58 medals at this year’s Olympics.
