Jeewantha Ratnayake, a 13-year-old resident of Galenbindunuwewa, Palugollegama, was born blind.

The voice of the living child asking for an eye was circulating on social media.

Rohitha Rajapaksa, the youngest son of the Prime Minister who saw this post, told his mother that.

Accordingly, the PM’s Lady came to the aid of this child who asked for an eye.

PM’s Lady first brought the child, Jeewantha Ratnayake to Colombo and referred him to one of the best and most renowned ophthalmologists in the country.

According to the reports, the treatment was started according to the recommendations of the specialist who was able to give sight to one eye of this child without an eye transplant.

Accordingly, PM’s Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, carrying all the burdens, brought the child to Colombo on several occasions and provided the necessary treatment.

That is how Jeewantha Ratnayake’s child got the opportunity to see the world.

Jeewantha, who was fortunate enough to see the world, met Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa with his father at Temple Trees this morning (28).

His father, Mr. A. Sugathapala spoke about his son who came to meet the Prime Minister. This was stated by him.

“The baby’s eyes were not visible from birth. So the son was in a lot of trouble. We are so poor that we do not have the resources to heal a child’s eyes. It was during this time that Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa came forward to help my son’s eyes heal.

Later she referred her son to a specialist at a private hospital in Colombo and started treating him. Glad to say my son can see now. He takes a bicycle and ride around the house, looking at books. Now the son is doing his chores alone. That happiness cannot be overstated. The son is studying at Anuradhapura Rienzie Alagiyawanna Special School. This is a great deed, ”said Sugathapala.
