The Judicial Medical Officer has confirmed that the girl who died in a fire at the residence of former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen has been raped for many years.
The post-mortem revealed that she had been raped since 12-13 years.
She had come to Rishad Bathiudeen’s house about eight months ago to work as a servant.
After a while, the girl had repeatedly complained to Bathiudeen’s family and her parents that she wanted to go home.
Preliminary investigations have revealed to the police that her parents were unable to take her back due to the situation in the country and that she was angry about it.
The doctor had also made a note that she had told the doctor after she had been hospitalized with burns that she aggravated herself because her parents had not come to pick her up.
Rishad Bathiudeen is currently being held by the CID in connection with investigations into the Easter attack.
Such abuse and heneius crimes must be thoroughly investigated impartially and bring those to gallows. There are many such dignitaries and perpetrators in the country at large. All those must be prosecuted regardless of gender, race or religion wise to save innocent lives in the future.
