Four persons posing as officers of the Western Provincial Intelligence Division who had gone to the houses of several persons involved in the illicit liquor trade in Welmilla, Moragahahena and tried to collect money have been handed over to the police yesterday.
It has been revealed that the four persons have been in the habit of collecting money by going to the houses of persons engaged in illegal activities and claiming to be from the police.
Police investigations have revealed that they are residents of Mount Lavinia, Katubedda, Piliyandala and Bandaragama.
