It is reported that the Samagi Jana Sandhana led by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya has started signing a motion of no confidence against Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
They point out that the Speaker has violated the trust of Parliament and the Constitution.
This motion of no confidence shows that the suggestions given by the Supreme Court regarding sections 13, 17, 20, 33 (6), 34 (1), 35 (1), 21, 22, 31 of the bill related to online security have been ignored.
To bring this motion of no confidence under the leadership of the opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa, representing the Samagi Jana Balawega and the Samagi Jana Sandhana, MPs MA Sumanthiran, Lakshman Kiriella, GL Peiris, Tissa Attanayake, Chandima Weerakkodi and Mr. Shan Wijayalal de Silva have signed the motion of no confidence.
