Sri Lanka has been listed as having the lowest average salary in countries around the world by the year 2023.
It was in a comparative analysis done by an international survey agency on global salaries.
The survey was conducted by CEOWORLD magazine, the world’s leading business and data news publication, looking at the average gross monthly salary for a full-time employee. The magazine said it looked at the average monthly net salary (after taxes) (salary and financing) of individuals around the world.
The incomes of the richest and poorest countries are compared accordingly. According to the magazine, the lowest monthly salary in the world is paid in Sri Lanka.
The list consists of 105 countries, arranged from the world’s highest paying country to the lowest paying country according to the average monthly salary.
According to the survey, Sri Lanka is the last country in the list as the lowest paid country.
According to that list, the average gross monthly salary in this country is USD 143.62.
Switzerland has the world’s highest average monthly salary of USD 6142.1.
Neighboring India ranks 55th on the list as the country with the average monthly salary of USD 718.38.
