The executive council of the Podujana Eksath Peramuna decided yesterday (6) to appoint Mrs. Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga as the leader of the leadership board.
It is said that this decision was reached at its executive council meeting held yesterday (06) to amend the constitution of the Podujana Eksath Peramuna.
Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party will contest the upcoming elections under the umbrella of a broad alliance with the symbol ‘Chair’.
Under the Podujana Peramuna constitutional amendment, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has 25% representation in the leadership board and 50% power in the working committee.
Accordingly, it has been decided to appoint the new officers of the Podujana Eksath Peramuna on the 22nd.
Also, it is reported that a new person will be appointed to the post of secretary of the party.
