President Ranil Wickramasinghe has started presenting the government’s policy statement to Parliament.
It marks the inauguration of the 5th session of the Ninth Parliament which is currently being held.
The new session began today with a ceremony presided over by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, without any tri-force military salutes or motorcades.
The policy statement presented by the President today was known in the past as the Rajasana speech and it was presented by the Governor General.
