A political alliance called the New Alliance has been unveiled yesterday (27) at the maiden public rally held in Jaela.
Addressing the opening ceremony, MP Nimal Lanza said that this political program was started without a leader, leadership board, party or alliance.
Member of Parliament Nimal Lanza said there that the new alliance will be formed by the unity of the highest number of MPs from the highest number of political parties representing the Parliament.
He said that it has received the support of 28 parties so far. Mr. Nimal Lanza said that more than 60 members of parliament are negotiating with the New Alliance.
Member of Parliament Mr. Anura Priyadarshana Yapa is the operational leader of the New Alliance with the theme “A Strong Economy – Winning Journey”.
Ministers Susil Premajayantha, Nalin Fernando, MP Priyankara Jayaratne and others joined it.
