The UNP Management Committee which met today (09) has unanimously decided to present UNP leader Ranil Wickramasinghe as the national candidate for the upcoming presidential election.
Accordingly, the resolution of the UNP Management Committee to make President Ranil Wickremesinghe contest in the presidential election to be held next September has been confirmed.
The UNP Management Committee that met today has also passed a proposal to hold the general election after the presidential election in September.
The UNP management committee met in Colombo under the chairmanship of UNP leader President Ranil Wickramasinghe and many UNP leaders including UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijayawardena and President Wajira Abeywardena attended the event.
Accordingly, the number of main candidates who are going to appear in the presidential election is increasing day by day.
