The Maldivian national who was arrested after revealing that he had bought and sexually abused a 15 year old girl from an internet advertisement has been revealed to be a former Minister of State for Finance.
According to the Police Bureau of Prevention of Child and Women Abuse, how they know the above information is after the Maldivian media reported that the arrested Maldivian national was a Finance Minister after being remanded & produced in court.
It has been revealed that Mohamed Ashmali has been staying in the country with his wife since 2018. It has also been revealed that the man had obtained a student visa stating that he was pursuing a degree from a private university in the country. The man has been produced in court until the 16th and will be produced for an identification parade on that day.
