Sheenas Palacios of Nicaragua has been crowned Miss Universe 2023.
She was crowned Miss Universe this year at the grand ceremony held in San Salvador, El Salvador.
The Republic of Nicaragua, the largest country in Central America, won this title for the first time.
The 23-year-old wore a crystal-encrusted gown in the colors of her country’s flag for the final round at the coronation ceremony. It was the talk of the town.
Palacios thus won the crown by defeating Antonia Porsild representing Thailand as the first runner-up and Moraya Wilson representing Australia as the second runner-up.
“Nicaragua, I feel you in my heartbeat, the sound of your marimba flows through my veins. I carry the strength of a volcano in my being and I’m ready to take that crown to you.” These are her words wearing the crown.
In this year’s Miss Universe pageant, contestants from 86 countries competed for the crown.
