The National Disaster Management Center has made an urgent request to the District Secretary to keep rescue teams ready for immediate response as there is a risk of flooding in the low-lying areas around Attanagalu Oya.
The Irrigation Department says that the water level of Attanagalu Oya is rising due to the rain that has been falling throughout the day today (01).
Therefore, there is a possibility of flooding in the low-lying areas around Attanagalu Oya and especially in the areas around Gampaha city, Wattala and Jaela district.
And it has further requested to take steps according to the need to direct the community living in the low lands on both sides of Attanagalu Oya to safe places.
