Last time champions South Africa won the World Rugby Championship for the fourth time this morning (29).

South Africa claimed the title by beating New Zealand 12-11 at St. Denis Stadium in France.

South Africa also became the only country to have won 4 Rugby World Cups so far, while runners-up New Zealand lost their chance to achieve the same record.

South Africa and New Zealand had previously met each other in a Rugby World Cup final in 1995. It is a remarkable event that South Africa defeated New Zealand 15-12 there and renewed history by defeating them 12-11 this time.

Meanwhile, South Africa managed to equal the record set by New Zealand in 2011-2019 by winning two consecutive Rugby World Cups.

England beat Argentina 26-23 in the Bronze Cup match.
