Renowned for his multifaceted talents, Defense Secretary, Retired General Kamal Gunaratne, is set to delight his audience with the release of two new songs. Scheduled for release tomorrow, these songs, titled ‘Nopenena Ruwa’ and ‘Ahe Kanduleli,’ will be made available to the public through General Kamal Gunaratne’s YouTube channel.
‘Ahe Kanduleli,’ penned by Retired General Kamal Gunaratne himself, boasts a melodious composition by the talented musician Mr. Yasas Medagedara and is beautifully sung by the popular singer Visharad, Ms. Abhisheka Wimalaweera. The song ‘Nopenena Ruwa,’ also written by Mr. Kamal Gunaratne, features the enchanting voices of Ridma Weerawardena and Sagarika Sugathapala, accompanied by the musical expertise of the renowned musician Thilina Boralassa. The accompanying visuals have been meticulously crafted under the direction of Mr. Sahan Wickramarachchi.
General (Retired) Kamal Gunaratne, a decorated officer with over three decades of service in the Sri Lankan armed forces, is not only recognized for his military leadership but also for his literary and musical talents. He has authored several books, capturing his profound military experiences, such as ‘Paathalayo,’ ‘Uththara Devi,’ ‘Kadol Aththu,’ and ‘Rana Maga Osse Nandikadal.’ Additionally, his poetic prowess shines through in songs like ‘Lovina,’ ‘Hamadama Mage Wenna,’ ‘Hadawathe Geethaya,’ ‘Hiri Podata,’ ‘Ma Wetha Enna,’ ‘Yudha Gini Dumaraya,’ and ‘Sebala Puthu.’
