The Sri Lanka Cricket Association has announced that it has taken steps to lift the cricket ban imposed against player Dhanushka Gunathilaka.
The decision was taken based on the recommendations of the independent investigation committee appointed by Sri Lanka Cricket to look into the allegations leveled against Dhanushka Gunathilaka.
After the T20 World Cup in Australia in November 2022, Dhanushka Gunathilaka was arrested by the Australian police on a sexual assault allegation from a woman.
Since then, Dhanushka could not come to Sri Lanka for almost a year because of the trial.
After that, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board imposed this cricket ban against Dhanushka in November 2022.
Dhanushka was acquitted in the trial held in Australia.
