According to the National Disaster Management Center, more than 15,000 people in 4 districts have been affected by the heavy rain in many districts.
Accordingly, 15,496 people in 3672 families have been affected.
The districts of Ratnapura, Kalutara, Gampaha and Matara have been most affected by the prevailing weather.
376 houses have also been damaged due to heavy rains, strong winds, floods and minor landslides, tree falls etc.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted this afternoon that Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Kalutara and Ratnapura districts may receive over 100 mm of rain till tomorrow.
