Areas at risk of flooding include:
- Palindanuwara and Bulathsinhala divisional secretariat divisions near the Kudaganga sub-basin of the Kalu River.
- Kotapola, Pitabeddara, Akurassa, Pasgoda, Athuraliya, Malimbada, Thihagoda, Matara, and Devinuwara Divisional Secretariat divisions along the Nilwala River.
- Welivitiyadivithura, Baddegama, Niyagama, Neluwa, Thavalama, Nagoda, Elpitiya, and Bopepoddala Divisional Secretariat Divisions along the Gin River.
