According to the Public Health Inspectors Association of Sri Lanka, 1,007 food had to be removed from the dansals held across the island during the last Vesak festival.
The association said that 9,182 dansals have been held across the country, out of which the condition of 3,707 dansals was unsatisfactory.
Its chairman Upul Rohana requests that all dansals organized on the occasion of Poson Poya Day be registered in the nearest medical officer’s office.
He also said that Poson Dansal also conducts continuous inspections.
