Fuel sales have been suspended in 40 filling stations that sold fuel barring the QR code system.

It has also been decided that all filling stations should maintain fuel stocks of at least 50% of their capacity in their fuel tanks.

A progress review meeting was held this morning (06) with the participation of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and the Controlling Authority of the Stock Storage Terminal, officials and the Minister of Power and Energy Mr. Kanchana Wijesekara.

Here, the fuel import plan for the next 8 weeks, the work of the refinery, and the continuous distribution of fuel during the festive season have been discussed.

It has been decided here to complete the installation of GPS tools for all fuel distribution tankers owned by the institution by April 15 and to implement it for private fuel distribution tankers as well.
