Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna has managed to get a majority in the voting held for the selection of members for the General Assembly of Mahawa Cooperative Society.
62 members of Janatha Vimukti Peramuna have won in this poll held in 30 localities belonging to the Cooperative Society. These 62 members have been elected from among 100 members.
When 62 members of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna were elected, the rest of the members were divided as 16 for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, 14 for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, and 09 for the Independent sector.
It is also special that JVP won all the members of 13 of the 30 localities where the vote was held.
