Officers of the Terrorism Investigation Division arrested two persons in connection with the mastermind of the Easter Sunday attack in Kahatagasdigiliya and Kattankudi yesterday (10).
The person in Kahatagasdigiliya has been arrested in connection with providing security to five persons including Saharan Haseem in 2018. The victim is a 47 year old resident of Kahatagasdigiliya. Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that he was the Sub Post Master of Kahatagasdigiliya Mukariyawa.
The other suspect who was arrested in Kattankudy area was detained in Batticaloa prison earlier and he is a 35-year-old resident of the Kattankudy area. He has been arrested on charges of spreading extremist propaganda and having links with Saharan Hashim.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the two suspects are being held at the Terrorism Investigation Division and further investigations are being carried out.
