England wins the T20 World Cup

Today (13) the England team won the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup.

In the final, they defeated Pakistan by five wickets. England won the toss in the match at the Melbourne Stadium and asked Pakistan to bat first.

The England bowlers managed to restrict the Pakistani team to 137 runs breaking Pakistan’s hope of scoring more runs.

In bowling, Sam Curran took 3 wickets for 12 runs in 4 overs for England. Adil Rashid took 2 wickets for 22 runs and Charles Jordan took 2 wickets for 27 runs in 4 overs.

Shan Masood, who performed with the bat for Pakistan, scored 38 runs in 28 balls and captain Babar Azam scored 32 runs in 28 balls.

Defending a target of 138 runs, the Pakistani bowlers managed to send all three first-order batsmen of the England team back to the pavilion in 6 overs. But England scored 49 runs in those six overs.

The captain Jos Buttler, who was successful among the front-line batsmen, scored 26 runs in 17 balls. Ben Stoke fulfilled England’s World Cup dream by scoring 52 runs in 49 balls
