Dr. Pradeep de Silva, President of the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, said that the administration of Covid vaccine to pregnant mothers throughout the country will commence on Wednesday (9).
He said that there are about 275,000 pregnant mothers in the country at present.
Accordingly, Covid vaccination will be given to pregnant mothers under certain criteria next Wednesday at the Piliyandala Medical Officer of Health office and at the Castle Street Women’s Hospital, Colombo, said Dr. Pradeep de Silva.
He also stated that the program will be launched at Castle Street, Colombo with the participation of the Prime Minister’s wife Shiranthi Rajapaksa.
