Ashen Bandara of the Sri Lankan cricket team won the award for the best catch in the finals of the Asia Cup cricket tournament held in Dubai this year.
There is no doubt that his brilliant save took the Sri Lankan team to victory. Ashen Bandara is a player representing the Sri Lanka Police Cricket Team who won his first performance award in this tournament.
Because of this, the Sri Lanka Police had organized a ceremony yesterday at the police stadium in Bambalapitiya to welcome his presence.
The warm welcome ceremony was held with the participation of many officials including Senior DIG Ranmal Kodithuvakku, Director of Police Sports, Superintendent of Police Kamal Pushpakumara, who is in charge of Police Medical Services, Welfare and Police Field Force Headquarters.
The Sri Lanka Police cricket team is currently armed with players who have represented and are still playing the Sri Lankan cricket team, Kusal Janith Perera, Nuwan Pradeep and Chamara Silva, in addition to Ashen Bandara.
