The Director of the National Dengue Control Unit Anura Jayasekara said that there is a high risk of the spread of dengue fever due to the rainy weather conditions prevailing these days.
He added that dengue could spread especially in the Western, Southern, Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces.
The Director General of the Dengue Control Unit said that 7860 dengue patients have been reported from the Colombo District so far this year.
In May alone, 859 dengue patients were found in the Colombo district.
Therefore, people are urged to keep their homes and the surroundings clean, he said.
