Fuel distribution has been started from the fuel stations of the Armed Forces and government depots for the government and private sector lorries transporting and distributing goods to the economic centers.
Fuel is thus issued for lorries engaged in wholesale trade in all districts.
As per the request of the Minister of Trade, Commerce, and Food Safety Mr. Nalin Fernando, the distribution of fuel started yesterday (2).
This step has been taken after a discussion with government officials including the army and police.
Accordingly, the required amount of fuel for the lorries that collect and distribute goods to the 13 economic centers that are currently active in this country will be issued by the three armed forces’ fuel stations located near the said economic centers.
Also, the quantity of fuel required for the lorries engaged in wholesale trade as recommended by all the district secretaries will be provided from all the relevant depots and fuel stations of the tri-army.
In order to fulfill that request, a form has been issued to enter the information for the government and private sector lorries that collect and distribute goods to the economic centers.
The aim of this work is to maintain the essential food network needed by the shops all over the island.
