The United Rice Farmers’ Association states that there will be a rice shortage in the country by October.
Accordingly, a kilo of rice in the country will exceed Rs. 1,000 within the next few months, said the President of the Association Muditha Perera.
Accordingly, those who are responsible should take action to provide the necessary fertilizer for cultivation depending on the situation in the country, he said.
The United Rice Farmers’ Association further requests the public to cultivate alternative local foods as soon as possible.
