The IGP issued transfer orders this evening to three senior DIGs with immediate effect.
Accordingly, Senior DIG in charge of the Crime and Traffic Division Ajith Rohana has been appointed as the Chief of Police in charge of the Southern Province.
Senior DIG in charge of the Southern Province M. D. R. S. Daminda has been transferred to the Eastern Province and Acting Senior DIG Kamal Silva has been transferred from the Eastern Province to the Crime and Traffic Division.
According to the letter issued by the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Defense dated 27.05.2022, the transfer order will be issued subjecting to the approval of the Public Service Commission.
