Nalla Police have arrested a Buddhist monk for allegedly setting on fire and damaging the house of MP Kokila Gunawardena in Loluwagoda and her brother’s house.
The Chief Incumbent of Giriullagama Shailarama Viharaya, Athubode Dhamma Kitti Thero has been arrested in that manner.
He was produced before Attanagalla Acting Magistrate Jayasekara Ranasinghe Premadasa and released on two sureties of Rs. 100,000 each.
The house of Mrs. Kokila Gunawardena in Loluwagoda and the house belonging to her brother were set on fire and damaged on the 9th.
A police team including Nalla OIC Kanchana Samarakoon is conducting investigations.
