President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has asked Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to resign from his post at a special cabinet meeting held today (06), reliable sources said.
Accordingly, the President has said that Mahinda Rajapaksa should resign from the post of Prime Minister in order to implement the all party government he has proposed.
According to unofficial sources, the President is considering appointing a new cabinet under a new Prime Minister next week if the Prime Minister does not resign.
